A SPONSORED giant toilet roll push and dog racing were just some of the activities held by staff at a Meltham firm to raise money for a Mirfield charity.

Staff at Disposables UK, of Huddersfield Road, managed to raise £2,000 for the Holly Bank Trust, of Roe Head, after 12 months of fundraising.

The company, which employs 95 people, came up with a series of money-making schemes, including a sponsored seven-mile push of a giant loo-roll, big enough to make 4,500 standard rolls.

Staff also cooked food to sell at work and held a dog racing night.

A total of £4,000 was raised, which was shared equally between the Holly Bank Trust, which provides specialist residential education for young people with severe disabilities, and Childline.
