Book giveaway
VILLAGERS can pick up free copies of a book at a special event later this month. Longwood Mechanics Hall is hosting a celebration of reading as part of World Book Night. Twenty-four copies of Bill Bryson’s Notes From a Small Island will be given away at the event which runs from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, April 23. The books have been donated by Jo and Claudia Bartholomew. Notes From a Small Island is the US-born author’s reflection on life in Britain.
