PUPILS at a Mirfield school went around the world ... without leaving their campus.

Youngsters at Castle Hall School and Specialist Language College celebrated the International Day Of Languages in every lesson and at lunchtime.

When they spoke in lessons they had to talk in another language.

Catering staff served up a Greek buffet lunch for them, which included moussaka, pork kebabs with pitta bread, stuffed peppers with tomatoes, Greek salad and Greek deserts.

The dining hall was decorated with Greek flags, balloons and photographs of Greek food.

Pupils also took part in an international quiz.

They then split into year groups for different international activities. One of them was a game of the tough Aussie-rules football.

There were also language taster sessions in Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Gujarati, Arabic and Greek.

There were also musical workshops and the chance to sample Caribbean fruits and non-alcoholic Caribbean punch.

The day was rounded off with a reggae party.
