MAORI dancers will perform at a multi-cultural event next weekend.

Kirklees Council’s A World Together takes place at Crow Nest Park in Dewsbury on Saturday from noon to 6pm.

Council Cabinet member Clr Jean Calvert said: “A World Together is a family event where visitors, young and old alike, can come along for a day packed with activities and entertainment, featuring live music, dance, crafts from around the world, a fairground, sports activities and much more.

“Visitors to the event this year are in for some real treats including a rousing Haka with New Zealand Maori group Manaia.

“This event also provides local people with the opportunity to showcase their talents on stage.”

A World Together will also include music from the Balkans and Africa.

Batley acoustic duo Magpie and songwriter Jasmine Kennedy will also take part in the event.

There will also be traditional Yorkshire craft stalls at the free event.
