A WOMAN kindly stopped to let a man cross a road on a zebra crossing.

He then repaid her kindness by kicking her red VW Polo car twice.

The incident happened on one of the several marked crossings next to Huddersfield University on Firth Street in Aspley at 10am on Monday.

The 29-year-old motorist from Kirkheaton stopped to let the man cross.

He did not set off at first, but when he eventually did he walked up to the car and kicked the rear door twice.

He then walked away.

He is white, aged 30 to 40 and podgy with dark hair that is both receding and greying.

He wore large round glasses, a light khaki jacket, blue jeans, trainers and carried a very large A2-size art folder.
