MP Kali Mountford's Labour HQ has been attacked by vandals.

Blue paint was thrown over the front of the office, in New Street, Slaithwaite, in what Ms Mountford described as a `mindless act'.

The paint was thrown in plastic bags which are thought to have burst when they hit the building in the early hours of Saturday. Police are investigating.

Ms Mountford said: "It is sheer vandalism and was obviously premeditated rather than something done in the spur of the moment.

"We cannot even speculate about the motive."

The Colne Valley MP is now considering extra security measures to protect her office.

It is the second time in four months the office has been hit.

In October pro-hunt demonstrators lobbed eggs at the building in protest at Ms Mountford's anti-hunt stance.
