Yorkshire Regiment to benefit from Lib Dem’s year in office

A TOP councillor will spend the next year helping former soldiers.

Clr David Ridgway yesterday announced that he would raise money for the Yorkshire Regiment Benevolent Fund during his term as Mayor of Kirklees.

The Colne Valley Lib Dem will become the district’s first citizen on May 23.

Current mayor Clr Eric Firth has set a fundraising record this year, collecting more than £60,000 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice at Brackenhall.
