HUDDERSFIELD volunteers are being called on to roll up their sleeves and help at popular tourist attractions across the area.
Yorkshire’s finest houses, castles and gardens are appealing for people to become guides, dress up in costumes or take part in special events at a number of venues.
At Oakwell Hall Country Park, Birstall, people are wanted to lend a hand around the historic hall and gardens.
Becoming a member of the Friends of Oakwell Hall, the volunteers will also get the chance to support a lively programme of events including living history days, outdoor theatre productions, summer fairs and brass band concerts.
People can give as much or as little time as they want and are asked to contact senior museum officer Eric Brown by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01924 326245.
Cannon Hall at Barnsley is also looking for more volunteers to take part.
People are being invited to help in the gardens or offer their time as guides or stewards in the hall, amongst the fine works of art and furniture.
Those who love to dress-up are also being called upon to get involved in special events or educational work.
Further details are available by emailing RichardAspinall@barnsley.gov.uk.
