The owner of a bird of prey which disappeared after a break-in has appealed for help in getting her back.
Vicky Giles was left distraught after her aviary in Crosland Moor was broken into over the weekend.
Although nothing was taken, a six-month-old female sparrowhawk got out and flew off.

“She is wearing jesses (thin straps) on her legs and will still have her leash attached,” said Vicky, 32, who keeps birds of prey as a hobby.
“I have had her since she was 10 days old. It isn’t a nice feeling that she has just vanished. If she gets snagged on a tree she could be left hanging.”
“If anybody has heard or seen anything please get in touch. She could be in the Crosland Moor area or further afield.”
She urged people to check gardens and trees as the bird may have become tangled up.
