A YOUNG man died after injecting heroin with his partner.

A Huddersfield inquest heard how Wayne Anthony Power, also known as Wayne McNamara, died at his flat in Corby Street, Fartown.

The 29-year-old died soon after injecting heroin with his boyfriend Anthony Lavery on August 22 last year.

Coroner Roger Whittaker said a toxicology report showed Mr Power also had a range of different drugs in his body including cocaine and methadone.

And he had also drank a “large level” of alcohol.

Mr Lavery said Mr Power had a history of heroin abuse and alcoholism and was upset about the death of his former girlfriend on New Year’s Eve 2009.

Mr Whittaker said unemployed Mr Power died from opiate toxicity that resulted from a heroin injection.

He said other drugs and alcohol may have contributed to his death and recorded a verdict of death from dependent abuse of drugs.
