A TEENAGER was stabbed and rammed by a car during a street brawl.

The 19-year-old was knifed in the stomach during a fight on Dewsbury Road in Elland.

Around 20 men and women were walking towards Elland town centre from a pub in Rastrick when a blue Ford Fiesta pulled up alongside them. A man in the car shouted obscenities at one of the women in the group.

The car then drove down the road and turned round. A man got out of the vehicle and began fighting with the group.

During the brawl, the 19-year-old was stabbed and another man suffered minor injuries.

The car then reversed towards the wounded men several times, causing them further minor injuries. The vehicle then drove off towards the Dewsbury Road crossroads.

The stab victim was taken to hospital and later discharged.

Police believe the bonnet of the car may have been damaged in the incident. Officers also think one of the suspects suffered facial injuries during the brawl, which took place at 1am on Saturday.
