THE enterprise spirit was being "crushed" in the UK, turning young people off going into business, a new report claimed today.

The same business leaders were being used to promote enterprise as 20 years ago, including Virgin's Sir Richard Branson and Body Shop boss Anita Roddick, said Enterprise Insight, which is backed by leading business groups.

The report added young people were more inspired by successful leaders in their own community or people of their own age.
