POLICE have arrested three youths after a shooting incident in Waterloo.

And we can confirm that calls from people who had read the story in the Examiner have played an important part in the investigation.

A woman was in the garden of her home on Woodford Drive in Waterloo when she was hit in the head with a pellet fired from a gun on Monday, August 27.

Three youths have now been arrested in connection with this incident and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

They are an 18-year-old from Dalton and two 13-year-olds, one from Longwood and the other from Waterloo.

Once again we can’t stress enough how seriously we take incidents involving firearms which will be responded to by armed officers.

There is no reason at all why anyone should have any weapon in public.
