A DANCE group for youngsters is sending out an SOS to keep its class afloat.

Streets of Slaithwaite (SOS) teaches street dancing – a mix of break dancing and house – to kids, aged six to 10 at The Watershed every Thursday.

SOS, co-run by Suga Brown Dance Company, is enjoyed by around 25 pupils of Nields Junior, Infants and Nursery School, Slaithwaite.

The class started in January after securing money from Slaithwaite charity Community Spirit. But organisers and mothers Anne-Marie McLintock and Kim Reuter, worry SOS will cease in Easter unless the group can find further funding.

Anne-Marie said: “It’s something cool and funky for boys and girls. It’s got interested kids and parents and we just need funding to carry on after Easter. If any local businesses or people can help that would be great.”
