DOZENS of people enjoyed a get-together in Huddersfield.

The Ahmadiyya Youth Association Huddersfield held its annual Ijtema festival.

The group is the young people's branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Huddersfield and the ltjema is its main event of the year.

The event is held for male members aged between seven and 40.

It was held at the Muslim Association's base in Fitzwilliam Street.

More than 50 men and boys took part in academic events such as religious and general knowledge quizzes, public speaking contests and competitions involving recitation of the Quran.

There were also sports events, including table tennis, arm-wrestling and volleyball.

The final session involved a prize distribution, followed by remarks by national representatives of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association from London.

The event ended with an evening dinner prepared by the young members.
