NEWSOME won the Junior Team Knockout title.

They overcome their handicap in some style to defeat Broad Oak BC 118-103 in the final at Syngenta.

Sponsored by Steven Spencer-Halsall, Newsome received a walkover to the final because Penistone BC B (36) couldn’t raise a team.

Broad Oak (36) took on Kirkheaton Con A (scratch) in their semi and won 133-117.

It was an intriguing contest all the way through, with the scores very close.

Rhys Beaumont set up his team with a fine win and another notable performance came from Fern Beaumont.

In the final, however, Broad Oak came up against a Newsome team (12) who hit the ground running.

A dogged performance from Chloe Ghaffar enabled her to beat Rhys Beaumont, while Thomas Holmes had a cracking game against Melissa Hoyle, with both putting up some stunning woods along the green edge.

In the end, Newsome ran out comfortable winners with six victories. The trophy was received from the sponsor by a delighted Newsome captain, Ellis Owen.
