ALMONDBURY CASUALS are seeking new players.

The Casuals, who once played at King James’s ground, now play their home games at Thongsbridge, are looking for players who maybe are at the end of their career, or can’t make their league side, or simply would just like a social game of cricket.

Formed just after the war by four individuals with a passion for cricket, the Casuals were part of the nineteenth century tradition of the Gentleman’s Cricket Club.

Many of their players came from Huddersfield Amateur AFC, Huddersfield Rugby Union Club, Hockey club, and Woodsome Hall Golf Club.

Many of their fixtures are still relatively local, while the furthest they travel is to Escrick, near York.
