Delighted hosts Almondbury Wesleyans won the end-of-season Under 9 Champions Tournament in the Sellers Huddersfield Junior League.
The Kaye Lane club staged the finals day, when the best eight Under 9 teams in Huddersfield and district fought it out for the Michael Pamment Trophy.
Wesleyans were seeded second behind Cumberworth in the tournament – having won four events during the summer compared with Cumberworth’s six – but they won the final with a total of 254 to 251 when Ben Fisher hit the penultimate ball for six and then played out the last delivery.
Momentum in the final swung Wesleyans’ way when Shaw hit 16 off one over after Cumberworth had looked in control.
The other teams taking part were Scholes, Armitage Bridge, Slaithwaite, Lepton, Honley and Kirkburton.
