Clayton West Under 15s won the Romida Hills Supplies Cup in a thriller.
Opponents Barkisland needed three to win off the last three balls of the final at Back Lane – the over being bowled by Tom Radley – but their last pair suffered a dramatic run out.
It left Barkisland 96 all out in 39.4 overs of the 40-over showpiece, chasing a Clayton West total of 99 in the Sellers Huddersfield Junior League event.
Joe Young of Clayton West was voted man-of-the-match by umpires Nigel Brook and Gary Rank for his figures of three for 12 in eight overs and a catch.
It was a close-run thing because Barkisland’s Sam Senior had a triple-wicket maiden after the hosts had made a rapid start, finishing with three for 23 in six overs.
