Clubs will be aiming to put their stamp on the allroundercricket.com T/20 Trophy when some crunch clashes take place tonight.

In three of the four groups, first-round winners face each other with the chance to chalk second successive wins and put one foot in the quarter-finals, which take place on Tuesday, July 9.

In Group I, Delph host Holmfirth with each club looking for their second win and it’s the same in Group IV, which features a repeat of last year’s final as Hoylandswaine host Scholes at Haigh Lane.

Group III top-table rivals Kirkburton and Honley meet at Riley Lane while the only group where winners are not paired against each other tonight is II, where leaders Barkisland visit Elland and first-round winners Hall Bower host Slaithwaite.

Bower will be hoping Australian Michael Salerno can maintain his outstanding form with the ball, when his seven for 28 haul helped the Bower crush Holmfirth.

The ex-Cairns man picked up three for 30 when Hall Bower won their first T/20 match at Elland, who posted 153 but were beaten by three wickets – Hasnat Yousaf top scoring for the Castle Hill club with 63.

Kevin Hook is fresh from a century for Delph, while captain Greg Buckley and all-rounder Gurman Randhawa are the men in form from Kirkburton’s Drakes Premiership win over Hoylandswaine and they will be hoping to hold sway against Simon Kelly and Co from Far End Lane.

Scholes are without skipper Tom Brook and his brother Louis, who took four wickets in their first-round win, while Golcar will be looking to recover from their narrow defeat of the opening programme – Kiwi Cameron Fletcher’s 92 being in a losing cause – when they host the derby against Marsden.

It is also the first full round tonight of the allrounder T/20 Shield for teams outside the Premiership.

Two preliminaries were played last week, with Almondbury knocking off 146-6 at Kirkheaton thanks to 39 from Sajjad Khuram (they won by four wickets) after Jonathan White had taken three for 22 to slow the home impetus following Matthew Lambert’s 36. In the other tie, Paddock squeaked home by two runs after defending 141 all out – Waqas Rafiq 25 – and restricting Cumberworth to 139-9 (Eliot Newton-Mann 39 and Jack Maskill 36).

Almondbury host Paddock tonight while other clubs are playing their first matches in the Shield. All tonight’s games:
