HUDDERSFIELD reached their third Joe Lumb Cup final in five years, just losing out to the Bradford League in a great finish to last Sunday’s final at Kirkburton.

It was one of the best finals for some time, Bradford just edging it by one wicket off the penultimate delivery, and the good news for Huddersfield is that eight of their squad are eligible to play again next year.

“We have several key players still young enough to play for the team again next season, and I am optimistic about our chances with some real potential in the squad,” said Huddersfield’s upbeat team manager Richard Dodson.

“I am already planning for next season, and would appreciate calls from clubs who feel they have players capable of making the squad.

“I would also like to thank the players for the excellent performances they have produced this season, the umpires, Graham Hinchliffe and Arnold Darlington, the scorers, Tim Hirst, Karen Raven-Hill and Kathryn Hirst, and all our supporters for their backing.”
