BROAD OAK Second team will play in Premiership II next season after they overcame Thongsbridge in the play-off game.

Playing on their own ground, the Oak batted first and half-centuries from Matt Devlin (50) and Richard Metcalfe (62) paved the way for a 200-plus tally, which could have been more, but for five run outs as they closed on 222-8.

Dan Whiley (34) and Max Berry (45) put on 66 for the visitors’ first wicket, but after they fell, only Richard Marshall (52) joined the party, and they came up 40 short, largely thanks to William Metcalfe’s four for 38.
