ROMIDA Sykes Cup holders Skelmanthorpe will open their 2011 campaign with a home draw against Cedar Court Conference side Thongsbridge.

Meanwhile, last year’s beaten finalists Delph & Dobcross will also start a fresh campaign in a bid to land their first-ever Sykes Cup with a home tie against newly-promoted Championship side Paddock.

League newcomers Cawthorne have been handed a home tie against their former Central League stablemates Cumberworth who were champions last season.

The only all-Premiership ties involve Slaithwaite hosting Scholes, while Kirkburton take on last season’s Frank Platt champions Shelley at Riley Lane, and Premiership runners-up Shepley entertaining Broad Oak.

Last season’s Drakes League champions Honley will entertain Clayton West.

In the Spectrum Interiors Paddock Shield, holders Skelmanthorpe are away to Broad Oak, while another interesting tie sees Almondbury play host to Central League side Almondbury Wesleyans for the village’s ‘bragging rights’.

The draws for both competitions were made at last night’s annual meeting of the Drakes League, and the full draws are:
