FAISAL BUTT took full advantage of Armitage Bridge’s generosity in the field – they dropped him no fewer than four times – to hammer a Twenty/20 competition record of 173 not out for dominant Delph & Dobcross!

The former Yeadon player opened the batting with Bilal Khiljee (24) and quickly put on 65 for the first wicket and then 127 for the second with Graeme Simpson, who scored only 11 of them.

Butt continued his carnage, smashing 18 fours and an incredible 13 sixes, in a whirlwind knock which lasted just 68 balls!

His unbelievable knock took Delph & Dobcross to 256-5 (another competition record), with the pick of the bowlers Jordan Williamson, who conceded only 10 an over!

The Bridge replied with 145-9.

Wasim Jaffer was on form again with 118 against Scholes, which included 16 fours and six sixes as Skelmanthorpe totalled 185-6 before Scholes were dismissed for 156, Dom Storey taking four for 32.

The third century of the night came at Kirkburton, where Hoylandswaine’s John Ashton belted eight sixes and eight fours in an unbeaten 112 as the visitors made 210-4 before bowling out Burton for 179,
