THERE was a run feast in the Sellers Huddersfield Junior League Under 13 programme.
Six teams scored over 100 runs in their 20 overs, with the top score being recorded by Golcar, who reached 138 in their win over Elland.
Three batsmen retired on 25 or more – Lewis Berry, Tom Haigh and Terry Willans.
Rastrick did superbly to chase down Lascelles Hall’s total of 103, in which Toby Booth top scored with 25.
For Rastrick, Bradley Birkhead retired on 25 and Alistair Cripps and Matthew Rowles both finished on 23 not out.
The closest game was at Micklehurst, where the home team just managed to pass the Armitage Bridge score on the last ball of the game – John Broadhurst hitting the winning runs after two batsmen had retired for both teams.
Sadly, both Shelley and Emley have had to pull out of the Under 13 section due to a shortage of players, while Skelmanthorpe have again been unable to raise a team.
The make-up of this section is now the subject of a review by the management board.
