KEXBOROUGH have been installed as favourites for the Oddfellows Cup.

The Bence Lane side are now one of only two Championship clubs left in the new League Cup competition – the other being Meltham – and both have home draws in the second round, with Kexborough playing host to Rastrick, who are currently third from bottom in the Conference.

Meltham, meanwhile, will entertain Lascelles Hall in a tie which will see home skipper Stephen Lane and new teammates Will Parker and Ben Cockshaw reunited against their former club.

Elsewhere, Conference leaders Paddock visit bottom side Linthwaite, while Armitage Bridge will be hoping to repeat their earlier League victory over Emley Clarence, when they eventually meet in a re-scheduled date of Sunday, July 18, made necessary because the Bridge’s second team are in action at home to Barkisland, on the original date of Sunday, June 27.

The full draw, along with that for the Earnshaw Cup (for Second Elevens) on June 27 is:

ODDFELLOWS CUP

Second round: Linthwaite v Paddock, Meltham v Lascelles Hall, Armitage Bridge v Emley Clarence, Kexborough v Rastrick.

EARNSHAW CUP

Second round: Micklehurst v Clayton West, Rastrick v Hall Bower, Lepton Highlanders v Meltham, Lascelles Hall v Shelley.

Town legend Andy Booth is set to make his first appearance for years for Hall Bower’s first team tomorrow, when they entertain Almondbury.
