ONLY four batsmen have past the halfway mark in the race to 500 League runs as the season reaches the end of May.

In the Premiership, Max Joice and John Sadler are the front-runners, both having just topped 300, while in the Championship/Conference, Clayton West’s leading run-maker Tom Barber heads the race from Cawthorne’s Chris Walmsley, but they can’t improve on their totals today as runs scored in the Oddfellows Cup don’t count.

The top 10 in each division are:

Premiership: Max Joice (Honley) 305; John Sadler (Hoylandswaine) 301; Danny Wood (Elland) 240; SP Singh (Shepley) 236; Greg Buckley (Kirkburton) 232; Peter Drysdale (Shelley) 228; Simon Kelly (Honley) 220; Lee Baxter (Golcar) 219; Graeme Simpson (Delph & Dobcross) 219; Greg Finn (Elland) 215.
