BEN POTTER smashed is way to one of the fastest centuries you could imagine when playing for Hoylandswaine’s second string in the recent Paddock Shield game against Rastrick.
As both he and Chris Schofield were unavailable for the Sykes Cup tie against Emley Clarence, they were both included in the Paddock Shield side and, after watching Schofield (89), Dan Hoyle (108no) and Harry Howlett (53) score early runs, Potter (pictured) came to the wicket in the 43rd over and promptly went berserk.
He smashed an incredible 14 sixes and three fours on the way to a 23-ball century!
His first 50 came from 14 deliveries, while unbelievably his second 50 came from just NINE balls.
He also scored three twos and two singles, and his century included just one dot ball (when he attempted a reverse sweep shot and missed).
He went on from the ton to finish unbeaten with 110 to his name as Hoylandswaine closed on 399-4, before restricting Rastrick to 190-5.
