THE Wasim Jaffer run-fest continued as they powered to victory against Thongsbridge in the latest round of Romida Twenty/20 matches.

Having blitzed Scholes for a big century the previous week, the former Indian Test player was run out for 122 as Skelmanthorpe posted 231-5 at Lidgett Lane.

Tom and Alex Kemp hit 68 and 42 respectively in reply but Thongsbridge were never seriously in the hunt and they closed on 162-7.

Paddock scored a big win against Hall Bower – Zahid Ahmed leading the way with the bat and Jonathan Lees with the ball.

Ahmed has seven fours and two sixes in his 37-ball 62 as Paddock notched 187-6, getting excellent support from Faisal Siddiq (21), Richard Payne (25) and Martin Lees (34no).

Matthew Mitchell (31) and Tom Cliffe (27 after his three for 30 haul)) were the best of the Hall batsmen, but they closed on 98 with Leeds taking four for 25 in his four overs.

Tom Owen was the pick for Rastrick in their victory against Meltham.

Owen hit seven fours and four sixes in his unbeaten 78 and shared in a third-wicket stand of 78 with Andy Armstrong (33) as Rastrick posted 178-5.

Meltham got off to a reasonable start in reply thanks to David Bebb (26), Stephen Lane (38) and Luke Kenworthy (25), but they were pegged to 129-9, Matthew Lambert taking two for 12.

Barkisland did an excellent job chasing down Armitage Bridge’s total of 171-8, Paul Hamer hitting 60 and Jake DeAraugo 34 while Darren Robinson had 3-21.

Barkisland’s successful reply was anchored by solid knocks from Ben Wells (41), Gary Colman (38) and Matthew Steers (38) as they secured a four-wicket win at 173-6.

Warren Jones recorded the best bowling figures of the round for Delph, taking five for 19 as Linthwaite were dismissed for 112 chasing 211.

Sam Scott, meanwhile, was in fine all-round form for Shelley in their win over Holmfirth.

Scott opened the innings and hit 49 as Shelley totalled 182-7 – Scott Marsh (46) providing the bulk of the back-up.

Scott then took four for 23 from 3.2 overs to leave Holmfirth struggling. They eventually fell for 164.
