HUDDERSFIELD’S Joe Lumb cricketers go into their next match at Nidderdale looking for a third straight victory in the competition.

That match at Beckwithshaw is not until a week on Sunday, June 7, but confidence will be high following the 124-run win against Halifax at Blackley in which Elland’s Jack Pulley led the way with a fine 113.

It enabled Tom Brook’s side to total 271-8, which was always going to be too much for the home side, who were dismissed for 147 with Brook, Dom Storey and Alex Kemp taking three wickets apiece.

Pulley’s century earned him top marks – he ran superbly and showed a superb attitude for the team – and his 113 came off 130 balls with 18 fours.

He shared in a century stand with Kemp (54) at the heart of the innings, which was bolstered towards the end of the 50 overs by a half-century stand between Tom Barber (21) and Oliver Davidson (21).

When left-arm spinner Storey removed the Halifax openers with only five on the board, the writing was already on the wall and, although the middle order rallied, Brook (3-14) and Kemp (3-4) helped Storey (3-35) seal Halifax’s fate.

Nas Rehman had the other wicket in what was an excellent team performance by Huddersfield.
