DRAKES Huddersfield Cricket League chiefs are so confident of a smooth build-up to the new season, they have cancelled the next monthly meeting of club representatives!
In keeping with the policy of only calling the 30 member clubs together when absolutely necessary, the league executive decided that without any business requiring discussion, there was no need for the get-together.
The wide geographical spread of clubs was a key factor behind the move towards flexibility and several meetings have been scratched over the last couple of years.
The next full council meeting will be on Wednesday, April 4 at the usual Huddersfield Hotel venue.
The season starts on Saturday, April 21.
The executive will still meet this month (a week tonight), so any urgent matters arising should be forwarded in writing to the administration secretary on March 6.
Clubs are reminded that yearbook entries should be returned to the executive secretary by tonight.
On the issue of public liability, all clubs with a renewal date falling before the start of the season must forward a copy of the total document to the administration secretary by April 14.
Clubs should note that all registration matters, with the exception of queries on the qualification of EU/Non-EU players (executive secretary) should now be addressed to the joint registration secretaries, Yvonne and David Collins.
All updates on such matters will be contained in the minutes to be issued from the executive meeting, which will include the final draft of the Twenty/20 rules.
Members of the executive are asked to note their meeting a week tonight has a revised start time of 7.45, to accommodate the already arranged disciplinary meeting at 8.30.
