TWO former Drakes League cricketers have passed away.
One is a former Golcar cricketer, Colin Parker, who died at home in Wath-on-Dearne.
Parker was a lecturer at Sheffield University and moved to play at Golcar, along with the then club professional Brian Turner, in the 1980s.
He was also an ex-semi pro footballer with Gainsborough Town. He left Golcar and returned to Wath after the 1989 season.
Another to pass away is Dougie Booth, who played for his home village club of Honley just before the war, but later played for David Brown Tractors when they were a major force in the Yorkshire Council League.
Booth, who was 88, was a wicketkeeper/batsman.
