THE Drakes Huddersfield Cricket League makes a belated start tomorrow.

Honley aim to get their quest for a record-breaking fourth successive title away to a winning start at home to Micklehurst.

On paper it’s a slightly easier opening than going to Delph & Dobcross, their scheduled destination before last Saturday’s cancellation of fixtures.

There’s a cracking derby in store when promoted Clayton West host Skelmanthorpe.

Barkisland visit Emley while Muthu Pushpakumara and his Shelley teammates head for Holmfirth.

In the Cedar Court Conference, title contenders Scholes and Broad Oak are away to Linthwaite and Paddock respectively.

In the Frank Platt section, fancied Hall Bower visit Marsden, while Kirkburton host neighbours Lepton Highlanders.

All games start at 1.30.

The Arrow Huddersfield Central League also starts tomorrow after their fixtures cancellation last week.

Champions Hoylandswaine entertain Azaad, while last year’s Section A winners Edgerton & Dalton go to fellow promoted side Mirfield.

Games start at 2.00.

A number of Huddersfield clubs are in Heavy Woollen Cup first-round action on Sunday (1.00).

The opening round should have been played last weekend but, like the Drakes and Arrow Central Leagues, was hit by the weather conditions.
