Green Moor will go head to head with Edgerton & Dalton in the final of the Allsop Cup.

The two teams had contrasting semi-final experiences with Green Moor, currently third in the arrowselfdrive.com Huddersfield Central League’s top flight, racing through against Woolley with a 149 run victory.

Second in the Premier Division, Edgerton, had a much tougher battle before they eventually saw off the challenge of Mount by three wickets to reach the final which will be played on Sunday, July 27.

At Woolley the visitors batted first and Green Moor made 193 before being ousted, with Raini leading the scoring with 55.

In reply Woolley were dismissed for just 44 with S.am Askey taking 3-10, Mark Elsworth 3-10 and Liam Burkinshaw topped them both with 3-1.

Mount looked to have set a competitive total against Edgerton as they set 195-9, but their rivals battled through with A Rafiq unbeaten on 70 as they reached their target with just a little to spare.

The Tinker Cup final on Sunday, August 10, will be between Woolley B and Mount B.

Woolley secured their place with an eight wicket success over Crossbank Methodists B, while Mount were three wicket winners against Birchencliffe B.

In the league top flight leaders Heckmondwike & Carlinghow maintained their 13 point lead at the summit with a 77 run success at Nortonthorpe.

Heckmondwike set 241-9 with Chris Allen top scoring on 89 and then bowled Nortonthorpe out for 164.

Edgerton & Dalton ensured they remained in the chase for the title with a 102 run win at Woolley.

Soyeb Gheewala hit 114 not out and got good support from Ismail Mayat, who notched 87, as Edgerton raced to 280-3, and Woolley were ousted for 178 despite the efforts of D Taylor who was unbeaten on 65.
