Huddersfield cricketer Hollie Armitage is with the England Women’s Academy in Sri Lanka.

The 18-year-old from Meltham arrived in Colombo on Wednesday for a three-week tour comprising six 50-over matches and two T20s.

It’s part of a Tri-series against the Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars from Australia and Sri Lanka Women A.

Hollie is currently living and studying in Loughborough, working towards a foundation degree in sports coaching at Loughborough College.

She previously attended Huddersfield New College , where she successfully obtained an Extended Diploma In Sports Science,

The Sri Lanka tour will be Hollie’s first competitive cricket since July 2014, when she suffered a serious knee injury.

She has since had an ACL Reconstruction operation (anterior cruciate ligament) and has undergone over 18 months of physio and rehabilitation, with the help of the ECB and England Academy set-up.

Hollie, who has recently been selected in the Yorkshire Women’s first-team squad for the coming summer, has been part of the England Academy winter training programme, and has also trained through the winter with the Loughborough University MCCU squad.

England open their tour campaign against the Australian side on Sunday.
