ALE RODRUIGEZ was the hero for leaders Slaithwaite in the Sellers Under 13s Area A.

Slaithwaite were in real trouble at 20-6 chasing the target of 96 set by visitors Cumberworth.

Luke Moran with 27 and the injured Tom Payne (23 not out with the help of a runner) showed what teamwork is about by nudging their team closer to the Cumberworth total, which included 26 from Josh Kilner.

Then Rodruigez, whose Christian name is pronounced Ally, hit the sixes which won the game in the last over.

Two bowlers in the Under 13s had the amazing figures of four wickets for no runs, Matt Zaffino for Marsden and Sam Clarke of Upper Hopton (who included a hat trick).

The Upper Hopton game was another close affair with them having just one wicket in hand in beating Emley. Ben Haigh bowled well for Emley taking three for nine.

Scholes continued their relentless push for the title in Area B with the massive score of 213, with five of their batsmen retiring after reaching 25 runs.
