CUMBERWORTH and Almondbury Wesleyans were involved in an Under 13 run fest.

A total of 260 runs were scored, but they finished with only eight separating them.

This was bettered at Flockton, where six batters retired, three from each side, with the Harris brothers among the runs for Flockton and Joe Goddard, George Howe and George Watts claiming the honours for Green Moor. The bowlers had a poor day with no three wicketers.

Rain interfered with the programme of matches.

Only one game was played in Area C and therefore all games are classed as abandoned, with two points to each club.

In Area A, only two games were washed out so the results count, but unfortunately one of these was the top-of-the-table clash between Thongsbridge and Slaithwaite.

In Area B the results stand as two were completed and, disappointingly, Crigglestone could not raise a team for the fourth time this term.

In the Lord’s Taverners, the Under 13s played at Almondbury Wesleyans yesterday, they are at Brodsworth today and, tomorrow, they are at Denby Dale.
