League leaders Heckmondwike & Carlinghow still face a chase for the Huddersfield Central League Premier Division title, despite last weekend’s programme being all but wiped out by the weather.

They hold a nine point lead over second placed Green Moor with two weekends of action remaining in the top flight.

Heckmondwike & Carlinghow would no doubt like to complete the task on Saturday, but they are away from home at fourth placed Upper Hopton.

Green Moor are also on their travels at the weekend as they go to Holmbridge, and they complete their season on September 20 with a home game against an Upper Hopton side who could have a big say in the destination of the title.

Heckmondwike & Carlinghow complete their campaign at home against Silkstone.

There was no action in the top flight last weekend, but the one game played to completion in Section A proved to be a high scoring clash.

Horbury Bridge were the hosts against Higham and the home side batted first setting an impressive 251-7 with Alan Grogan scoring an impressive 103.

However, bottom of the table Horbury were denied a third win of the season as Higham also found their batting form.

They past their target with three wickets in hand as Paul Wroe took control as he hit 112.

In Section B their was a fine knock from Crigglestone’s Adeel Khalid who scored 114 to no avail as their game against Birchencliffe was eventually abandoned.

However, Flockton collected winning points with a home victory against Cross Bank Meths B.

Gary Marsden led the way with the bat as he scored 58 as Flockton set 227-5.

They then blew the Crossbank order apart to win by 198 runs as they ousted their rivals for just 31.

The wickets were shared between Graham Hirst (5-18) and Adrian Wilford (5-11).
