ANTHONY McGRATH was installed as skipper for Yorkshire’s LV County Championship match which got under way against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge today.

Matthew Hoggard was also in the 12-man squad, along with fit-again Deon Kruis, while Chris Taylor was set to make his season’s debut as Yorkshire try to get their season back on track.

The full squad is:

Chris Taylor, Adam Lyth, Anthony McGrath (capt), Jacques Rudolph, Andrew Gale, Gerard Brophy (w/k), Adil Rashid, Tim Bresnan, Rana Naved, Matthew Hoggard, Deon Kruis and David Wainwright.

Durham play their re-scheduled Twenty/20 quarter-final match against Glamorgan at the Riverside tonight.

Gloucestershire, meanwhile, have released seamer Carl Greenidge from his contract with the county.

Huddersfield Under 13s open their Lord’s Taverners Festival on Thursday, when they entertain the Heavy Woollen team at Denby Dale (1.30).

The Heavy Woollen area won the competition last season and knocked Huddersfield out in the semi-finals.

On Friday, Huddersfield meet the Aire-Wharfe League at Ilkley and then the following Monday (July 28) taken on Craven at Almondbury Wesleyans before finishing on Tuesday by meeting Halifax at Outlane.
