Another Safe Hands course is being run by the Drakes Huddersfield League.

Two courses have already been held at Slaithwaite CC – they are for Child Welfare Officers and are mandatory under ECB and YCB regulations.

Every club has to have a child welfare officer and they must have attended a Safe Hands course.

On the previous two courses, Lepton Highlanders failed to attend on the first night and three clubs – Barkisland, Elland and Hoylandswaine – failed to attend on the second.

Drakes League child welfare officer Roger Peaker said: “Since the last courses I have been asked by a number of junior team managers and coaches if there is another course.

“We need 12 or more to register for the YCB to run us another course, so we are taking bookings now and the planned date is July 23 at venue still to be decided.”

It’s £15 per person and clubs should contact Roger Peaker on rpeaker@yahoo.com or ring him on 07889 847055.
