OUTLANE have wrapped up promotion from Division Two of the Towergate Halifax Cricket League, with three games still remaining.

And following their victory over third-placed Luddendenfoot, the even better news is they now only need two points out of the 36 still on offer to become divisional champions.

Their latest victory was pretty comprehensive, as they went on to win by seven wickets, and it would have been an even easier victory stroll, had Karl Whipp not cracked 94 out of a total of 152 for the visitors.

Anwar Shokat was the pick of Outlane’s bowlers with four for 18 from 10 overs, while Neil Crosland chipped in with two for four from three.

After losing Hellawell for 20, Ben Dickens (70) and skipper Dan Crosland (43) put on 101 for the second wicket, which virtually sealed victory before they were both dismissed late in the day.

The latest win brought Outlane 12 points, and they can capture the Division II crown next Saturday when they visit Old Town.
