HUDDERSFIELD unveil a new captain tomorrow when they continue their Joe Lumb Cup campaign by entertaining Barnsley at Scholes (1.00).

Jack Hargreaves will take over the skipper’s role from his Broad Oak teammate Charlie Roebuck, who has just broken into Yorkshire’s second team.

Roebuck may still be available for the odd game (although probably unlikely now) but Hargreaves will remain captain even if he should play.

Also in tomorrow’s side is Denby Dale’s Callum Geldart, who made a tremendous 93 last week for Yorkshire Academy against Sheffield Collegiate, as is Gurman Randhawa, who also hit a half-century for the County’s Academy team.

Skelmanthorpe have a trio of players in the Under 17 side, including Josh Clarkson (wicketkeeper), and the Barber brothers, Dan and Tom.

Huddersfield began with a defeat against the Bradford League two weeks ago, so tomorrow’s is a must-win game at Chapelgate.

The full side (to meet at Scholes’ ground at noon) is:

Jack Hargreaves (Broad Oak), Callum Geldart (Denby Dale), David Hales (Almondbury Wes), Sam Hall (Marsden), Josh Clarkson, Dan Barber, Tom Barber (all Skelmanthorpe), Sam Denton (Shepley), Tom Brook (Scholes), Michael Smith (Kirkburton), Max Gummerson, Alex Kemp (both Thongsbridge), Gurman Randhawa (Lascelles Hall).
