SCHOLES’ Shoaib Khan is leading the way in the Examiner race to 500 League runs.

With two tons to his name already, Khan is just shy of the halfway mark and is 20 runs ahead of Thongsbridge duo SP Singh and Joe Sykes (all three of them playing in the Conference).

The leading runmaker in the Premiership is Golcar’s Steve Whitwam on 204, just ahead of Delph & Dobcross’s Bilal Khilji.

On the bowling front, four men have so far taken 16 wickets apiece, Clayton West’s Paul van den Berg the solitary one in the Premiership, along with Thongsbridge’s SP Singh, Scholes’ Asim Khan and Slaithwaite’s Mark Mitchell.

The players are chasing a £75 Premiership prize for the first batsman to reach 500 League runs and the first bowler to claim 50 League wickets, while there is £50 on offer for the first players to reach the same marks in the Conference.
