THURSTONLAND had two century makers as they powered to victory over Flockton in the arrowselfdrive.com Huddersfield Central League.

Chris Flanagan hit an unbeaten 117 in the Premier Section clash and was backed up by a fine 109 from Kristian Thackray as they totalled 274-3 against the home side.

Flockton never looked like challenging the target, with their top scorer making only 25, and they were eventually dismissed for 149 in 39 overs, Dan Peace leading the wicket-taking with four for 39 from eight overs.

Cartworth Moor had a thrilling one-wicket victory over Nortonthorpe when chasing down a total of 153 to claim six points.

Hero of the hour was Guy Pearson, who top scored with an unbeaten 38 to guide the Holme Valley side to victory by the skin of their teeth.

Earlier, Ben Busfield led the way with the ball, taking four for 34 from 11.3 overs as Nortonthorpe were dismissed in the final over.

Another thrilling match in the top flight was at Thorn and West, where the home side beat Penistone off the final ball of the match.

Penistone posted a nicely competitive 203-9, but Thorn and West held their nerve to get home with Finnigan contributing an unbeaten 87 to add to his two for 37 haul during the Penistone knock.

Ahmed finished with 47 not out for the winning line-up.

Preliminary rounds of the Allsop Cup and second XI Tinker Cup were played alongside the league fixtures.
