The Holme Valley club hope to increase their 80-strong junior membership.
They can boast seven ECB-qualified coaches and have improved their facilities, the club having being awarded the ‘most improved ground’ accolade in 2008 by the Central League.
And during the close season Upperthong have invested close to £20,000 on a synthetic twin-bay net facility, which is due to be officially opened on Sunday by chairman Bob Heywood and Greg Cropper of the Daniel Broadhead Trust, which has provided a significant contribution to the cost of the nets.
Upperthong are already seeing the benefit of their youth policy with their Under 11s crowned Huddersfield Under 11 champions last year, while the Under 9s won the inaugural Michael Pamment Trophy the previous season.
Already the club have teams at Under 9, 11, 13 and 15 level and are keen to increase their number of teams at 11 and 13 level.
Anyone interested should pop along to the club on Sunday or contact Robert Oakley on 01484 680892.
