MICHAEL VAUGHAN made the most of his time in the middle to post a hundred as Yorkshire beat Surrey by 33 runs in the Emirates Airline Pro ARCH Trophy.

The former England captain made 115 – his first century for Yorkshire since June 2004 – to help Yorkshire to 295-8 in their 50 overs.

Surrey, who chose to blood a number of youngsters, could only muster 262-9 in response.

Yorkshire have offered to stage Pakistan internationals at Headingley if other venues can’t be found.
