The Premier League is coming to the perfect boil.

After Arsenal’s win at Tottenham and Liverpool’s at Manchester United, it’s now a genuine four-horse race.

Punters up and down the country will be trying to sort out their placings for the top four, so I thought I would give you mine and the reasons why I think they’ll finish that way.

Manchester City are 11/8 favourites for the title, Chelsea are 15/8, Liverpool 3/1 and Arsenal 12/1.

I have talked all season about single focus, and what a difference it can make to your weekly performance.

We know how the Europa League drags on and how clubs become physically and mentally drained among their squad, while the reverse happens when clubs are fresh for every single encounter – and that’s why we have seen the improvement from Liverpool this season.

The analysis of match time for players this season shows Liverpool’s as being significantly lower than the other top teams, so they are very fresh.

Despite that, I would still for City to take the title. Now they are out of the FA Cup and the Champions League they know they are in the box seat and should be able to get clear focus on every single game.

Losing Kompany last week to a red card early in the match at Hull was a major test of their credentials, but they passed it with 10 men and flying colours with a comfortable 2-0 victory.

I think Liverpool will end up second. Luis Suarez is one of the very top players in the world at the moment – unplayable at times – and in these last remaining games he is sure to be at his best. That could well make the difference.

Liverpool at home to City is a game I’m sure the Sky cameramen are already looking forward to!

Chelsea will finish third for me, simply because of their Champions League involvement. They have played so many games this season and they showed away at Villa that little Achilles heel we’ve seen from them on occasions.

Today’s draw in the Champions League could bring them anything, but by the time that competition finishes for them, the Premier League will have taken significant shape and it could be too late to get re-focused.

Arsenal are down for fourth, but I really hope they win the FA Cup, just for Arsene Wenger.

People forget he changed English football and the attitude of players and coaches and, now that Sir Alex Ferguson has retired, there is no-one I have more respect for in the English game than the Frenchman.

Indeed, if I had a kid of the right age who was good at football right now, there is only one club I would want him to go to, and that’s Arsenal.

Finally, talking about Leeds in the Championship, people might have noticed their odds for relegation have significantly shortened.

They were 33-1 to go down earlier in the week, but then with the issues over ownership and possible administration, triggering a possible loss of points, they were backed at 25s, 20s, 16s and right in to 6/1 at one stage. We have now slightly pushed those odds out to 8/1, but it just shows what a story like this can do.
