AFC Emley are targeting a bounce-back win over AFC Mansfield at the Welfare Ground on Wednesday after a 2-1 defeat at Hull United in the Northern Counties East League First Division.

Darren Hepworth’s side are seventh after their defeat to the second-paced Humbersiders, managed by former professional footballer and boxer Curtis Woodhouse.

AFC Mansfield are third after an 8-0 thumping of Winterton Rangers.

All three goals at Hull came in the space of 10 minutes in the first half.

Emley’s Kieran Ryan cancelled out Brett Agnew’s goal before Jamie Richardson’s winner.

Ryan later tweeted: “Not the result we wanted but proud of the performance.”

Manager Hepworth tweeted: “What terrific potential we have – more belief and results will come.”
