FC Halifax Town and Brighouse Town both continued the countdown to the new football season with 2-1 friendly wins.
The Conference Premier Shaymen saw off Rochdale, freshly promoted to League I, while Northern Premier League-bound Brighouse beat Conference North Guiseley.
Halifax, previously victorious over Tadcaster and Barnsley, aim to make it four wins from four when they head to Conference North Harrogate Town on Saturday.
On the night last season’s 32-goal top scorer Lee Gregory turned out for his new club Millwall at Dartford, fresh recruit Scott Boden scored again for Halifax.
It was the third friendly running the 24-year-old former Sheffield United, Chesterfield and Macclesfield man had found the net.
Trialist Danny Schofield, the experienced former Huddersfield midfielder, also scored in his second pre-season start for Neil Aspin’s side.
Callum Camps got a late reply for Rochdale in a game watched by 752, but Shay boss Aspin must have been pleased with the performance.
Tyrone Gay and Ryan Hall scored either side of half-time as Brighouse came from behind against Guiseley, who led at the Dual Seal Stadium.
Paul Quinn’s side host another Conference North team in Bradford Park Avenue on Tuesday (7.45).
