Striker Ashley Flynn took his season’s tally to 70 goals as he fired up AFC Emley’s push for the top three in the Northern Counties East League’s first division.

Hotshot Flynn bagged all four goals as Emley notched a 4-0 home win over Yorkshire Amateur at the Fantastic Welfare Ground.

The win took manager Darren Hepworth’s outfit up to fourth, but he will be eager for them to keep up the momentum and carry on climbing.

That chance is tomorrow night when they are at home to third in the table Bottesford Town.

The Lincolnshire side are only a point ahead of Emley with a far inferior goal difference, and a win would close the gap on second in the table AFC Mansfield to just three points.

Brighouse Town will be eager to get back to winning ways in the Evo-Stik North League’s Division One North.

Mid-table Brighouse suffered a narrow 4-3 home defeat at the hands Clitheroe.

In a topsy-turvy game saw the Blues from Lancashire opened up a 3-0 lead with goals from Sefton Gonzales after seven minutes, Scott Harries on 15 and Brandon Barski on 19 minutes before the hosts fought back to level.

However, despite a Danny Brady own goal on the hour-mark, a strike from Daniel Facey two minutes later and then a Steve Hollingworth goal two minutes from time, Gonzales grabbed Clitheroe’s winner in injury-time.

Brighouse will look to bounce back tonight as they travel to take on a Bamber Bridge side just one place and one point below them in the table.

FC Halifax Town will look to carry on their climb away from the relegation zone in the Vanarama National Conference.

The Shaymen, who secured a dramatic late 1-0 win over Southport thanks to Shaquille McDonald’s late goal, will seek to climb the table again tonight when they travel to mid-table Bromley.
